PROMIS Global Health Versions
PROMIS Global Health Overview The PROMIS Global Health is an overall evaluation of an adult (ages 18+) patient’s physical and mental health. The measure is generic rather than disease-specific and looks at a patient’s general health. There is only a fixed-length version consisting of 10 questions and is available at healthmeasures.net. All versions of the PROMIS Global Health produces a Global Physical Health (GPH) and Global Mental Health (GMH) scoring component. There is not an overall PROMIS Global Health score. The Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcomes Score – Anterior Cruciate Ligament (KOOS-ACL) is an abbreviated version of the KOOS designed specifically to evaluate young, active patients with ACL deficiency. The creators of KOOS-ACL wanted to mitigate the weaknesses of the more general KOOS in this specific patient population and develop a shorter, less burdensome tool. At a short twelve (12) questions, this questionnaire takes less than five (5) minutes to complete, reducing the time required for patients to complete it by 2/3 compared to the initial 42-question KOOS. What is the Tegner Activity Scale? The Tegner Activity Scale (TAS) is a self-administered patient-reported measure that describes the level of work- and sports-based activity in which a patient can engage. It was developed by Dr. Yelverton Tegner and Dr. Jack Lysholm in Sweden and first described in 1985 (1).
